Greetings everyone.

I just recently heard about Schil's exploits here in the MMO arena and decided I needed to come by and check things out. I started playing EQ during beta IV which was my senior year of high school. I took a lot of guff from my parents for spending so much time infront of the computer. It was awesome when I read the ESPN article in 2001 detailing Schil's exploits within Norrath. Being from Arizona, my parents were huge Diamondbacks fans (I hate baseball... Sorry, Schil) and letting them know that Schil also shared the love of EverQuest got them off of my case, haha. I miss the old days of EQ and the community, difficulty and depth that game provided. It seems like anything to have come out since pales in comparison by my standards. I am stoked to hear that someone who shared the love of the original EverQuest has set out to help design a new MMO and I for one am on board 100%.

It's now 2009, 10 years later and I'm married with two kids and still hoping to someday find the next "EQ". I still hate baseball, but look out NFL the Cardinals are finally here! (Bad timing for that with the shellacking they took on Sunday, but it'll turn around.) I look forward to getting to know this community and anxiously await more news of your guys' pet project.

I played EQ from about a year after it launched until the "children" took over and SoE caved to them. The "WoW mentality" leaves me cold - all my kids play so I'm very much aware! And, like you, I'm waiting for that awe-struck feeling EQ gave me for a long time.
