Well, I guess we'll see and you all will probably know right after we do. That would be something TOO cool to keep a secret...unless they asked us to, of course!
I just want to introduce myself. I am a big MMO player. I like to try all different MMO's from SWG/EQ/EQII/EQOA to even things like webkinz. MMO's have ruined my gaming time for other games.
I looking forward to the work that will be coming out of 38Studios. I live a few towns over from the studio and have worked on other MMO so I'm always interested in local studios.
I heard on the instance podcast that 38studios is doing something for blizzcon and I'm dieing to know what 38studios and blizzard are doing.
Now that I am no longer lurking, might as well make it official.
Howdy!
Yet another Texas based MMOer, living just south of Dallas. Been following 38 studios since I read the news about Curt hiring Todd and RA, two guys I admire for their creative genius. Then read about how they wanted to create an MMO and called themselves green monster games. I was excited to say the least. But at the time was waiting for Vanguard (disappointment) and have since sworn off getting hyped for any game. Though it's hard not to be excited about this. Looking for any excuse not to get my hopes up.
I am in IT doing mostly design work and computer repair, but gaming is my passion right behind my wife. I wrote an essay awhile back about what a MMO should be and if I can find the time I want to see if I can write up an outline for one.
Anyway, I have played just about every MMO out there. Saw the beauty of some and the ugliness of others. I have played games I thought I wanted and was disappointed. Which lead to that essay outlining the truth of the matter. I started with EQ and EQ still hold my heart in many ways. But it's flaws are apparent, but its boons are clearly evident to me now. And I hope Copernicus will be the game I have been waiting for.
