Would you like to be a part of the team that includes the creative visionaries behind Drizzt and Spawn? 38 Studios is currently seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead our quality assurance department. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for building and staffing an internal as well as external QA department. He or she will coordinate with the various development teams at 38 Studios to ensure that the highest quality standards are being met. This person will oversee the work of the internal QA procedures and pipelines and is responsible for the day-to-day operations, interdisciplinary communication, and long-term planning for the quality assurance team. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:

- Oversee the resource planning for the QA department, including scheduling across multiple simultaneous projects; assist in preparation of the department budget.

- Oversee the QA hiring process; train and coach staff for improved performance.

- Originate, implement, and enforce testing policies, procedures, pipelines, and standards for the QA department.

- Analyze the QA testing environment, database administration, and necessary hardware to perform fundamental QA processes.

- Maintain regular communication with development teams and management regarding project status.

BASIC POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:
- 5+ years QA experience in the gaming software development field.

- 3+ years of senior QA management experience in the gaming industry.

- Demonstrated skills with QA methodologies, software development lifecycle, and problem solving.


Skills/Abilities:

- Excellent written/verbal/presentation skills; knowledge of Word, Excel, MS Project.

- Ability to multi-task effectively; attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

- Ability to mentor others in software-testing processes and methodologies.

- Ability to work and interact with cross-functional teams at all levels.

-Prior experience in publishing/entertainment/consumer software products highly desired.

- Strong console experience on all platforms and familiarity with certification a plus.

Yeah, well....

I'll never get to work for a company like 38 cuz I'll never live in MA. The best I can hope for is to be able to help develop a true customer support team again, and I have a lot of exp there and know how to even do it remotely and secure!! Living with a top net security guy isn't all bad!
