The Beginning: Your First Computer Game

A lot of people reminisce about their very first video game. But what was your first computer game?

I can't even remember the title of mine. It was played on a black and white Mac, and it involved a stick figure jumping out of a helicopter into a wagon full of hay.

Loads of fun...the timing was evil. Anyone know what it was called?

Re: The Beginning: Your First Computer Game

My first Computer game was on a TI-99 (anyone remember those...on sale at the Navy Exchange for $100.00) and was called "Tunnels of Doom". Randomly generated dungeons up to 10 levels with the "Boss" in the bottom of course.

After that the first game I remember buying on my new Atari computer when I bought it was Zork. What a blast that was...even with no graphics. I also remember playing Wizardry on my friends Apple2 a time or two...another great game.

Re: The Beginning: Your First Computer Game

First computer game I ever really play were those lame educational games based of kiddie TV Shows/Movies. I think the first one of those was Lion King Learning Center, but the first real game I ever really played was probably Baldur's Gate on PC.

Re: The Beginning: Your First Computer Game

For me, I started late. It was Wizardry on my Mac 512. Yes, I used to be a Mac user.

The shame.

Re: The Beginning: Your First Computer Game

My first two games that I can remember were Phraroh's Pyramid a text based cassette loaded game on my dads TRS-80 and then Zaxxon which was the first graphics based game I can recall having.

After that we got a Tandy 1000SX and I can recall Kings Quest and later on the gold box Dragonlance games which I credit with hooking me on computer gaming.

Re: The Beginning: Your First Computer Game

First computer game... Hmmm, there was a Peanuts/Charlie Brown learning game thingy my Dad bought me when I was in first grade for our Mac. It was pretty awesome

I think the first -real- game I got in to would have been Diablo in third grade. My friend got the game, and I probably played it more than him for a few weeks. My father got a shiny new IBM in forth grade, and I finally got the game for myself (along with Command & Conquer: Red Alert). I think I saved like a year's worth of allowance for both those games... Damn!

Then StarCraft, and after than it was EverQuest. Oh, EverQuest, you changed my life... *starts to stare at the ceiling*

Re: The Beginning: Your First Computer Game

The first game I really remember playing was the original kings quest.

I still have alot of fond, and frustrated memories from that game.
