Re: The Beginning: Your First Computer Game

Tficgame i ever remember seeing was probably Doom, played by my dad. The "whoosh" sound of the doors will always be in my heart :P

But played? Math blaster, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego, and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, all in DOS.

Doom is the most memorable, but I have a vague memory of a Pong type game.

Yep, Kings quest on the Packard Bell x386 computer LOL. I remember when we upgraded it to like 4 Megs of RAM and we thought that was a lot
I think M1 Tank platoon too, but Kings quest was both awesome but very frustrating.

My favorite computer game on the C-64,I can’t remember the name, but it was a combat game ,with stick figure armies and tanks and HELICOPTERS(my favorites}. I ultimately would betray and attack my own tanks and troops with helicopter gunship, decimating them, and leaving the evil opposing army victorious!…I guess the Viet Nam war left me dazed and confused as to my loyalties
to *U.S.of KKK-A.(tm Reverend Jeremiah Wright)*… :-(

Sounds a bit like Choplifter (Choplifter - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

Re: The Beginning: Your First Computer Game

Oh man I can barely remember my first PC game. I know that my family's first computer was this old Gateway (well it was new then). It came with a few games. Pajama Sam and Freddy Fish are what I remember. Shortly followed by Quake... lol (waaay to mature for my age but my friend and I used to play on his brother's PC all the time). (we kicked ass by the way hahaha)

Thus the reason parents need a better handle on things and the rating systems are just about useless!

But, yeah....Doom and Quake were awesome! (I was a mom then, btw, and a teacher!)

And no, Duke Nukem wasn't my idol...ick!

Re: The Beginning: Your First Computer Game

My very first game I believe was Sim Ant. Still has a very special place in my heart.
