Re: Guild Experiences

This might sound mean or unkind but I hate husband/wife duos in guilds. Because if one of them gets left out they get the other one to raise such a fuss it causes a bunch of drama. Have deal with it a few times.

Re: Guild Experiences

My hubby and I were in the same guild for years, and most ppl didn't even know. He finally consented to being one of my officers...the only ones that knew were the other officers, and that wasn't for quite a while.

Some husband/wife duos are ok, but again, I've seen what you're talking about. The worse is when one levels the other's character when they aren't around and makes out like it's still 2 seperate people. That causes all sorts of issues, too. And then they get bad attitudes when "she" or "he" didn't get thus-and-such drop because "they" deserve it more than....you get the idea.

I'm very careful about that and make the rules clear up front. If you don't like it, then there are plenty of other guilds. Go "uber" yourselves to death and good luck! And if they're a pain, I'll let the other GL know to be watching. The GLs on our server all had a really good relationship with each other. It helps!

Re: Guild Experiences

Yup, or if you take the husband's character on a raid and not the wife's because she's not geared out enough to bring enough dps, then the husband drops raid and he's a class you really need. Lots and lots of unneeded drama. It's a freaking game, don't guilttrip your spouse because you feel entitled to do everything he does when he does it. Blargh.

Re: Guild Experiences

Me, my wife, and mom helped form the Enigma Collective on EQ2, Bizarre. There were 13 of us. I was active at first, helped set up the first guild site, and other stuff, but got busy and did not stay very active.
I haven't played EQ2 in awhile (had a falling out with SOE, over billing), but my mom is still a active founder, so I get to say hi. Great people and still recruiting. I hear they just formed a alliance with another guild and are doing some fun group quest.
I always found playing with family fun.

Re: Guild Experiences

For me, my wife & I run a fairly large social guild in WOW on the stormrage server. The idea of the guild is to be a fun, social, PG guild. We have some family and friends in the guild but mostly people that we have picked up along the way. The only real raiding is we do it Kara. For us the guild is more about seeing all the different things in the game, collecting the pets and dancing on the fountain in stormwind.

Sounds like fun, Dragon! A bit like my old guild!
